Get Ready for a Spicy Summer Party!

It’s been a busy week, cleaning up the house, tidying the back yard, baking cookies, and hauling out my crate of 19th century erotic wine cups from China (see above) for the big party on Sunday. Yes, I’m playing hostess for the first meeting of the Spicy Summer Sunday blog party tour and I have some tongue-tingling food and conversation on the menu, plus an awesome musical performance that really sends chills down my spine—the perfect entertainment for a hot summer afternoon.

By the way, I know I promised a “happy ending” to my porn stash/creepy sex doctor musings, but have been so caught up in the party preparations, it may not happen this week, but I'll try. In the meantime, Mom’s not home yet, so feel free to keep leafing through my Viva’s, vintage Penthouse’s and Japanese manga porn (don't worry if you don't read Japanese, you don’t really need any translation to figure out what’s going on ;-).

But back to the excitement ahead, here’s the all-star list of summer Sunday parties. My mouth is watering already!

5/31 Opening ceremonies right here
6/7 Erobintica--hot chili powder
6/14 Neve Black--cilantro

Make that "hot chili powder" - ;-)

I am hoping for some dry weather soon to try out my recipe on the BBQ - it's been raining raining raining here.

I stand corrected! Sorry about the rain. It's been rather gloomy here, too, although we could use rain. None in sight until the fall, though.

Ooh - I love those erotic wine cups! Can't wait!

I love those wine cups. My brother has a couple of German Steins that the bottoms have images of a nude woman in the bottom.

I've got my pepper mill warming up now!

I noticed Isabel picked Ginger.

Isabel? Are we "spice swapping?" :-)

I am really looking forward to this. I love just about every spice on the list!

Much looking forward to your opening day on Sunday, Donna. :)

I'm looking forward to having you all! It's going to be low-key, but I hope we can have a nice spicy discussion :-).

Ever since you suggested this hot topic Donna, I have been fantasizing about my encounter with Ginger.

That's right Craig!, It must have been totally subliminal, now that you remind me, I remember your mentioning it. And, anytime, with pleasure ; )

I am so looking forward to everyone's summer Sunday spice. Thanks Donna!

My brother has a couple of German Steins ...**

At first glance, I thought that said "Gertrude Steins."

Looking forward to Sunday, Donna!

I would love to see those Gertrude Steins. With naked pictures of Alice B. Toklas on the bottom?

Hmm, this is making me hungry for brownies!

Those cups!

Looking forward to this.

For the record, I love salt. Don't know whether I think of it as a spice, per se, but that would be my spice if I was one of your Spice Girls and Boys. Glad Haven has that one. I wonder what he'll do with it. Hmmmn... ;-)

Bon appetit!

I can't wait for the tour to start! It's going to be simply delightful :)

Of course, I have since realized that all of my thyme recipes are primarily winter foods!

So I might be sharing a chilly story instead of hot summer spicy ;)

This sounds like so much fun! I don't have nicely decorated wine cups or beer steins with a prize at the bottom, but I do have my fucking bunny mug - have had it for 30 years - and oh my here it is on eBay - mine is blue, had no idea it was worth so much! It is my mocha mug - I make mochas for hubby and I (with Peet's coffee and handwhipped cream) and I drink mine out of this mug. I will have to take a close up picture of it.

JM, you're in the beginning of July - when the humidity really sets in around here - a chilly story might just be the ticket about then. ;-)

Winter recipes are just fine, JM! With all this partying, fall will be upon us all too soon.

Robin, I remember seeing those fucking bunny cups and almost bought one! Clearly you were meant to be an erotica writer ;-).

I'm looking really looking forward to adding a little more spice to my hot summer.
