Your Favorite TRULY Hot Sex Scenes
Speaking of Princeton, I’ve noticed the place mentioned a lot in popular entertainment. In “Desperate Housewives,” Susan’s daughter, Julie, not only gets into Princeton during the summer from the waiting list, but a professor wants her to come to campus right away to help him with a research project. Right, this happens all the time ;-) In Sex and the City, Carrie interviews a besuited Asian American man for the job of her personal assistant. He claims he got a degree in finance from Princeton (there is no such degree), then flirtatiously reveals he's wearing a pair of satin high heels—see, smart guys are regularly mocked in the media, too!
That’s not the only part of the movie version of Sex and the City that didn’t quite work for me. In general I agree with Anthony Lane that a good TV show did not translate to the big screen for many reasons. Most disappointing of all were the sex scenes. I’d argue that the first scene with Miranda and Steve deserved a place story-wise and was realistic enough, but the rest seemed gratuitous and almost porn-like in the bump-and-grind camera-friendly positioning of the bodies. This got me thinking about sex scenes in Hollywood movies I actually admire. I could see this being a thread and I want to ask your help to make a list of Truly Hot Sex Scenes.
My first entry—Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin in The Big Easy. Remember that scene where she’s kneeling on his bed and his hand dips under her skirt? We don’t see where the hand is or what it’s doing until it’s all made very clear by the expression on her face. It was real, it was hot and interestingly enough left much to the imagination. Come to think of it, the picture on the DVD case is pretty hot, too. Better than anything on Sex and the City. Then again, the true title of that movie should probably be "Shopping, Disappointing Cardboard Boyfriends, It's All About Me Anyway... and the City."
But enough about bad sex.

9 1/2 Weeks, the sex in the alley in the rain scene after she dresses up like a guy? Hot, hot, hot. Mostly because it's so frantic and steamy and wet.
In Interview with the Vampire, there are several scenes where Louis and Lestat (Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise respectively) are on the verge of kissing. These (I think) are very well played and highly erotic.
I could also mention Secretary, which is saucy all the way through, as is Shortbus, but these are supposed to be explicit movies so I'm not sure if these two titles count.
I'm sure very few people would think of anything in ABBOTT AND COSTELLO GO TO MARS as a sex scene,
but one of the sexiest things on film I have ever seen is in that flick. The long and the short of it is, Abbott gets a magnetic boot
stuck on the ass of a woman sealed up in a suit of armour and then struggles to pull it off.

Pretty Woman The scene where Richard Gere sits Julia Roberts on the piano letting her feet rest on the keys, leans her back and runs his hand down her body from her throat to her groin. Then he slides her to him, the camera pans out to intermittent sounds of the piano keys as she moves. Hot scene.
And I know there's something really hot between Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in Desperado. That whole movie's hot.
The moonlit oh-so-vanilla missionary scene from Top Gun made a big impression on me all those years ago. I just dug up a few seconds of it on YouTube (mark 1:20), and it's still hot:

Mario Bello and William Macy in The Cooler. They unexpectedly sizzle, and Bello doubles down with Viggo in History of Violence with some serious heat.
It's not full sex, but the sexiest kiss is when Nic Cage pushes Elisabeth Shue against the slot machines and macks her in Leaving Las Vegas.
Clooney and Lopez in Out of Sight were as hot as Banderas and Hayak in Desperado, too. And that's muy hot. Also bringing the Latin hot was "Y Tu Mama Tambien" with a young and smokin' Diego Luna.
One of the classics is Bill Hurt and Kathleen Turner in Body Heat, which is also a pretty good and all-around sweaty noir.
Also noiry, Al Pacino grinding on Ellen Barkin in Sea of Love.
If you like girl-on-girl noir, Bound is quite something.
And graphic sex made a mini-comeback in mainstream film with 300 when Gerard Butler nailed his queen.
The sex in Angel Heart, Lisa Bobet and Mickey Rourke was steamy.
The love scene in Latter Days is one of my favorites. The poor Mormon missionary gets sent home after he's caught kissing the boy next door. The boy races after him, and they end up falling into each other in a hotel room. It's forbidden and tender and so very hot.
I also love a montage scene in Zerophilia where every time the two characters have sex, they each switch up their genders. It was very cool to watch the boy/girl/boy/girl/?/? action. lol.
Y'all are MUCH too young, but if you can find a copy of "Duel in the Sun"
with Jennifer Jones and Gregory Peck, you'll see something truly hot!!
They just don't make 'em like that any more.
Someone already mentioned 9 1/2 Weeks - I liked the food scene in that movie also. Also the first love scene in The Lover, with Jane March.
Apropos, something I heard on Sex and the City and completely agree with. The Last Seduction, where She's screwing the hot stud against the fence -- for once not the other way around.
"What am I to you?" he asked.
"You're my designated fuck."
"What if I don't wanna be your designated fuck?"
She playfully slaps his face. "I'll designate someone else."

The original Terminator movie had one of the most passionate sex scenes I've ever seen. Not overly explicit, but not behind closed doors either. Incredible passion kept in check, then suddenly, POW!
There's a bit of it on Youtube, but it doesn't quite have the same impact the way they've presented it.

is the stairway scene in Gone with the Wind too cliched? I love the whole swept away by passion, thing. and the next morning, when Scarlet awakes, singing happily and Rhett comes in to say sorry, I'm leaving? Heartbreaking sexual misunderstanding!
on the other hand, the scene in Body Heat where William Hurt breaks through the glass door to get at Kathleen Turner... and Mickey Rourke feeding a blindfolded Kim Bassinger strawberries in 9 1/2 weeks
